Home - City Considers a New Youth Center
An informational Council meeting on January 12th, locates a new youth center possibly in the Decoto Area. See Council agenda item 7D and staff report on page 514. No funding sources have been identified for the development, staffing and operation of a new youth center facility except $3.38 Million in grant funds from Measure WW. However, the City Council has prioritized the $3.38M Measure WW funds for a new swim facility next to the Union City Sports Center or for a shared community facility located at the closed Bernard White Middle School Site (BWMS). There was no mention of a Youth Center shared with the Union City Sports Center.
